Falafel Recipe | Chickpea Cutlet | Easy And Quick Starter | Party Snack Idea
Namaste and welcome to my kitchen where anyone can cook
Today I am going to make falafel
falafel is a middle eastern starter, we make it with chick peas
it s very healthy, rich in protein and iron
so lets make falafel
1 medium sized onion, chopped
4-5 garlic cloves
red chilli powder, 1 cup chick peas soaked overnight
salt to taste, mint leaves
coriander
lemon juice
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon jeera powder
1 tablespoon coriander powder
we will pour the overnight soaked chick peas in a mixie
with the chopped onions
garlic, mint leaves
coriander
you dont need to chop it, as it will eventually grind
and now we will lock it and grind
Now we will open it to check
the green colour looks amazing, now we will add the spices
salt, coriander powder, red chilli powder, jeera powder
and 1 lemon's juice
we will grind it again
we will shift it to another bowl and if you think your batter
is lose you can add 1 or 2 tablespoons of all purpose flour
and keep it in the fridge to set for 10-15 minutes
after which we will make cutlets
I have taken it out from the fridge, so that we can make its cutlets
simultaneously i have kept oil in the pan to heat
I am giving it a round shape you can shape it in any way you want
the oil is hot enough, lets fry
I am deep drying it you can shallow fry it
Now we will turn it, so that it can fry from the other side till it gets to a golden brown colour
we will place it on a plate wrapped with a towel so that it releases excess oil
they are perfectly golden brown, soft from the inside, crispy on the outside
I am serving it with tahini sauce and onions
you can serve it with your favourite dip
